AutoResponder Overview

The TrafficWave.net AutoResponder System is designed to help you build, manage, and communicate with your list (or lists) of email addresses, called Subscribers.

Sales and marketing people will often refer to subscribers in their AutoResponder Campaign as 'Leads' throughout the process.

The AutoResponder Campaign

The process starts by creating a Campaign. Each Campaign is a complete system, containing:

  • Your Signature Profile - your personal or business identity used when communicating with your list.
  • Your Collection of Letters - pre-written messages to be sent to your list.
  • Your Subscriber List itself.

Capture Pages/Forms

A Capture Page (or Lead Capture Page) - is the form page where the information you wish to collect from the Lead (Subscriber) is gathered before submitting to the TrafficWave.net system.

Every AutoResponder Campaign comes with a unique Capture Page URL, along with many options to customize this page. If you prefer, you may also place the code for a Capture Form on your own website pages.

The Double-Opt In Subscription Method

After a potential subscriber to your Campaign fills out and submits the Capture Form, TrafficWave.net then sends a confirmation message to the address owner to confirm that they have requested the information you are providing.

This method is referred by Email Marketers as Double Opt-In, and this is the method that TrafficWave.net uses to qualify subscribers to your AutoResponder Campaigns. Some marketers also use the term "closed-loop opt-in".

Why Double-Opt In ?

The use of double opt-in helps protect our users against potential malicious subscription requests which can dramatically increase spam complaints.

For example, let's say that Alice has a subscription form on her web site. Chuck visits her site and requests information by filling out Alice's subscription form. Alice's autoresponder will send a confirmation message to Chuck asking him to click on a particular URL if and only if he controls that email account and did actually request the information. Chuck clicks the link confirming that he does control the email account and that he does want the information. Alice's information is sent to Chuck.

If instead, a hostile party, Bob, were to visit Alice's web site and subscribe Chuck's address, he would be unable to confirm that request because the confirmation email would be sent to Chuck and Bob has no access to Chuck's account.

Landing Pages

Landing Pages - refer to the pages where your lead will "Land" after they have either submitted their Capture Form (the Subscription Landing Page) or after they have confirmed their subscription to your campaign (the Confirmation Landing Page).

Why do you need THIS one?
